In the name of security MG_2239 digital photograph by Ted Szukalski

This photograph through a rain soaked fence is a small token symbol of our urban environment changing in front of our eyes. In the name of security improvements we see fencing like that erected around public / government property, decorated with razor sharp barb wire. I am not sure if there is a balance between perceived threat and security measures applied. This may not hold true everywhere but here in Australia I feel safe and consider such measures an overkill that will turn into long lasting eye sore.
