Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria, King Ludwig II, Germany
This fairy tale like castle, visited by millions of tourists every year is a creation of an enigmatic, and yet obviously visionary and creative mind of King Ludwig the 2nd of Bavaria. The fantasy world he created for himself in his palaces are now appreciated by every one who visits them.
I am not surprised by the location of the castle. Neuschwanstein has all the best Bavaria has to offer: green forests, mountains, deep “aqua marine” lake and vast views. It is hard not to fall in love with this country. King Ludwig has also secondary inspiration: music of Richard Wagner. The rooms in the castle are dedicated to Wagner’s operas.
