When I photographed these two couples looking afar at the bulk carriers anchored in the distance I have noticed how similar the texture of the ground was to the waves below. When I was converting this to black and white I made an effort to match the tonality of water and the sandstone to match to create an illusion of smooth transition and thus “enable” the people in the photograph to walk on water.
Walk along the beach is a first of several black and white photograph in a series I have called “At the beach”
The photographs have been taken mostly in the morning sun, often into the blindingly bright reflection of sun in the ocean creating very high contrast, dramatic images.
This young lady who I call Redhead Rocket just zoomed in front of my camera. I think I managed to capture how dynamic her step was. In this case I did use Canon 580EX as a fill in flash to get some details in her black top.
