After few postings about important issues such as elections and photographers rights today it is back to basic street photography. I have captured this image few days ago just opposite Sydney Town Hall just in front the Woolworths shop. There was a man standing barefoot at the very busy intersection. He was looking constantly back as if he was waiting for someone. His unkempt appearance may indicate he was one of many Sydney homeless.
I was passing Sydney Town Hall when I have noticed a skateboarder sitting on the ornate balustrade and he was having his lunch. Bent almost in half he was looking somewhere as if he was trying to spot someone. At the same time there was considerable group of people at the pedestrian crossing and I have noticed that practically everyone was turned away from the skateboarder. With a semi circular space created between the young man and the rest of the crowd. Town Hall is a busy place at lunchtime and it was rather odd there were no people walking towards me and the skateboarder.
Most of my street photography is presented in black and white but from time to time there are photographs that need to be presented in colour. Take for example the photo of this cute girl in purple beret. She is wearing bright orange stockings and just to make sure she draws enough attention one of her shoes is white and the other one is black. She was standing in front of Sydney Town Hall and talked to her friends. This is a busy place with many people passing by. Yet, in few minutes I was there no one even looked at her once. I guess it takes a lot to be noticed in the crowd.
This banjo player set himself up right at the entry of Coles opposite the Sydney Town Hall. I admired how his big hands handled the instrument with biggest of ease and obvious virtuosity. Banjo is not a typical basking instrument and it was nice to see and hear something different.
I’ve met this interesting girl near the Sydney Town Hall while she was buying a quick snack for her lunch. There was something very special about her. Perhaps the “model search” t-shirt was an obvious give away. She had stunning facial features, emphasised by the bandanna and a figure of a super-model. Thank you gorgeous.
