Fishermen

Fishermen

Fishermen

Here is another view of the morning rock fishing. The photograph took a while to set up. The key here was to get the silhouettes of the fishermen in the background and beautiful textures and shades of rocks and water in the foreground. It took me 4 or 5 shots before I could balance the light properly. As you can see from the top right corner the sun was still low but quite strong.

Information for photographers: if you are confused by the effect not matching the exposure data: I have used ND8 filter for this capture.

Fisherman and an ocean wave

Fisherman and a wave

Fisherman and a wave

Rock fishing is a very popular form of fishing in Australia. However, as this photograph of a huge wave raising high above the fishermen demonstrates it can be a very dangerous activity. This photograph was taken soon after sunrise and the fishermen look straight in to the light of the morning sun may not even see a big wave like this coming his way. Luckily, this man was a very experienced fishermen and kept moving away from the edge of the rocks as each big wave set approached.

Here is a postcard style landscape photograph of some sandstone rocks and the ocean. This photograph was taken at the base of Skillion at Terrigal in the morning sun.

Pink rain clouds

Pink rain clouds

Pink rain clouds

This photograph represents one of the strangest skies I have seen in a long time. With heavy, rain clouds on the horizon and the sun shining through a cloud “hole” at the sunset the clouds and the rain were turned a tone of pink.

Breakfast for one

Breakfast for one

Breakfast for one

It’s a sleepy morning at Terrigal. Usual crowd of sport and fitness fanatics is nowhere to be found. It must be either too early or too cold for them. In fact there are very few people all around. Couple of joggers and and couples on their holidays are taking walks along the sandy beach.

An older man with coffee cup is reading a newspaper at the aluminium table. He is soaked in rising sun as is the magnificent tree behind him.

Sun baking in the park

Sun baking in the park

Sun baking in the park

Unseasonably warm weather has brought a lot of people into the Hyde park to catch the warm autumn rays of sun. There was quite a bit of skin showing on the grass all over the park. Those two pretty girls ware sun baking near the fountain.

Sun always shines on me

Sun always shines on me

Sun always shines on me

Anyone who has been in Sydney or in most coastal areas of NSW would know how average the weather has been. Storms, followed by rains, risk of a cyclone and clouds dominated the environment. On days like that little rays of sunshine seem to be all to distant and quite precious. In a setting like this I’ve noticed this woman across the street. She had sun on her face. Nobody else but her.
