Girl with a cigarette MG_5708

Few days ago I was watching a documentary about street photographers in New York. They were getting really into people’s way and snapped away. At times the result were quite interesting but most of the photographs resulted in what I would refer to as street portraits - singling out an individual person rather than capturing a situation.

What prompted me to take this photograph of the girl in blue jeans and the green top? It was the intensity with which she watched her steps and of course the green and blue colour theme. She just had her lunch at Gloria Jean coffee shop and was walking away from the out door tables.
