She stared at me
The Asian girl in the centre of this photograph was clearly staring at me. She was not put off when I have raised my camera and took a photograph of her. Her stare continued. She intrigued me but unfortunately for me by the time I crossed the road after what seemed to be the longest red light ever she was gone.
I realise it is purely coincidental but she has reminded me of someone. Her strong stance and calm but determined look sent a shiver down my spine as that someone has recently passed away.

Stance
I have called this photograph “Stance” as I though the situation captured here was exceptionally explicit visually. It is seldom that I capture scenes so vividly expressive as this one. I cannot tell what the two men were talking about but they have certainly created a dramatic atmosphere at least at the moment I was passing them.

I had a good conversation with this man on why I took his photograph in this position. He learnt something about rule of thirds and framing in general. The humorous contrast between advertised “Legends of Kung-Fu” and his very casual stance completes the image. Thank you, you’ve been a great model.
