Another beautiful morning at Terrigal. This time I’d like to present a fairly high contrast black and white landscape focusing on the sea and the rocks in front of the Skillion.

I have taken a set of photographs of Micah mid December at the base of Skillion at Terrigal. I thought we did quite well considering the photographs were done ad-hoc. Here is a little YouTube video with some music (The song is by German band Liquido and was obtained from Synthopia, where you can find lots of very good, free music) to match.

You can see all of the photographs used in the video at better quality in Micah gallery

We had a very foggy morning today. The fog was visible everywhere from the inland bush areas to the sea coast as seen here at Bateau Bay. The peninsula was wrapped in the thick raising for and lit by the warm sunrise light. Quite beautiful and inspiring.

Ocean

Early in the morning the ocean often looks like liquid metal (mercury). However, that means it is also highly reflective and the visual element is hard to capture without blowing out the highlights. On this occasion I had a little help from mother nature. The cyclone over Queensland made the sea very big with waves reaching 4 and 5 meters. Combined with strong winds there was a lot of spray in the air. I believe the mist allowed for a better filtering of light and thus for a better photograph.
