There is never enough love around, so it is good to see some people are not afraid to express their affections publicly.
I have photographed this young couple kissing near the Queen Victoria building.

As romantic as this scene is the man could have taken his hands out of the pockets.

Fashion Review

In street photography it seems the photographer is never close enough to reflect being the part of the event or scene he is photographing. In this particular case I was too close. Standing at a major pedestrian crossing opposite the Sydney Town Hall I have noticed a young woman standing next to me fidgitting around her clothing. She was in quite peculiar assembly of cloths and drew attention of the older woman standing on her right. It is hard to read from her face if she disapproved of the fashion the young woman was wearing but she certainly was interested in the outfit and the actions of the girl.

I have photographed this woman waiting for a bus because the scene, her dress and pose reminded me an old French movie. Perhaps mostly because of the way the woman was dressed in stylised 50s/60s clothing.

I have left this photograph of napping older woman in Hyde Park in colour as I think the soft colours here actually enhance the serenity of the scene. Normally I tend to publish street candid photographs in black and white as that keeps the focus of the viewer on the people in the scene. In the city there are a lot of colours which otherwise could draw the attention away just by the very nature how we perceive visual signals. For example yellow colours have a strong tendency to be noticed, even if they are not part of the key element we are looking at.

A simple scene from Pitt Street Mall. People walking by. I just thought there was a lot of synchronicity between the two man walking in the foreground.
