Chris and Tracey MG_1212
While I was listening to the classical guitar player I have noticed a colourful and intriguing pair of young people. They both had coloured hair and seemed interested in the music of the busker too. I have approached them and asked if I could take their photograph. They introduced themselves as Chris and Tracey and actually really liked the idea. Thanks guys - you were fantastic.

Lunch in the park
This photograph of people having lunch in the park may not be of Manet’s “Breakfast in the Open Air” pedigree but it seemed to me a nice capture.
Beautiful, sunny day in Sydney even in the middle of our winter can bring nice, low 20C temperatures. A perfect weather for of a bit of park socialising or simply relaxing lunch.

Bus stops
I have passed this set of bus stops countless number of times but it took the gloomy, gray day like today for me to notice the yellow, alphabetical signs for each of them. I guess my mind is usually focused on finding interesting people situations but it is good sometimes to refocus and place these people in the urban environment.

Orange and tall
ING was running some promotion today in Sydney using people on stilts. They were visible from afar and I guess the orange, tall figures of these people drew considerable interest.
As I was taking this photograph of one of the promotion people talking to a passerby I had to ask myself is this really how a company wants to talk to their potential customers?

Three on a bench
I have observed a couple of unrelated incidents today and yet I felt they were tied together under a banner of “acceptance”.
Firstly, in the morning, a homeless woman on the train sat on a three seater bench. She took the first seat thus block remaining two seats. Despite the carriage being full and many people had to stand no one dared or wanted to seat next her. She looked rough but otherwise seemed clean. Finally, a young man excused himself pass her and sat next to the window. She certainly did not like it and made sure he, and other people on the train knew about it. Admirably, he kept his cool. To my surprise, the woman preferred to stand up as she was not prepared to share the seat with anyone. I thought, she should have been glad he accepted for who she was and did not make any fuss about it. Obviously such acceptance meant nothing to her.
Few hours later a similar situation. A homeless man on a three seater bench was half laying across it watching a game of chess. Two Japanese ladies sat next to him. They have exchanged looks and all of them kept watching the game. Acceptance in this case was probably irrelevant as the interest in something in common was of higher importance.

Martin Place in Autumn
Most of my lunchtime photographs are focused on people of Sydney. However, today I have captured another aspect of this city. Here is a mixture of functional architecture combined with people spaces and beautiful autumn foliage.
