Fisherman and a wave
Rock fishing is a very popular form of fishing in Australia. However, as this photograph of a huge wave raising high above the fishermen demonstrates it can be a very dangerous activity. This photograph was taken soon after sunrise and the fishermen look straight in to the light of the morning sun may not even see a big wave like this coming his way. Luckily, this man was a very experienced fishermen and kept moving away from the edge of the rocks as each big wave set approached.

Sandstone rocks and the ocean
Here is a postcard style landscape photograph of some sandstone rocks and the ocean. This photograph was taken at the base of Skillion at Terrigal in the morning sun.

Awaiting you
If you can find this serene place a soft pillow is awaiting you. You can sit down, watch a sunrise and sip freshly brewed coffee. The ocean waves and the seagulls will sing their song and the steps will soak in the warmth of the morning light, awaiting you, but you are still asleep.

Sandstone puzzle
We went for a short walk along the ocean today. It is no big secret that I like rock faces and formations. While I was looking for some interesting textures and colours I have noticed this sandstone puzzle at my feet. I thought it was rather interesting composition of sandstone pieces - lots of complimentary lines and curves. It looked to more to me as human designed mosaic then a random mother nature rock crack.

Bateau Bay at sunrise
I know there must be a million of sunrise photographs but I could help not to photograph this very warm and colourful view of Bateau Bay. The photograph was taken from Terrigal beach.

Early in the morning the ocean often looks like liquid metal (mercury). However, that means it is also highly reflective and the visual element is hard to capture without blowing out the highlights. On this occasion I had a little help from mother nature. The cyclone over Queensland made the sea very big with waves reaching 4 and 5 meters. Combined with strong winds there was a lot of spray in the air. I believe the mist allowed for a better filtering of light and thus for a better photograph.

Russian girl from St. Petersburg visiting Sydney
This stunning, Russian girl was visiting Sydney all the way from St. Petersburg. She arrived in Sydney on Maxim Gorkiy ocean liner. We’ve met accidentally near Sydney Opera House, where she asked me to take a few photographs of her again various land marks. In return I got a nice smile and a couple of photos.
