This is my favourite photograph from last few days. There is no story behind this photograph or any of my observations. Simply two women captured at the base of Queen Victoria statue: young girl texting someone on her mobile phone and the older lady having a cigarette.
These two girls represent well the confusing weather we had in last few days. One of them is dressed warmly for the Australian winter as temperature has dropped to 6C in the morning. The other girl, who is talking on the mobile phone, is in a mini with a light top as if it was summer. Well the temperature today reached 21C.
The frequent and rather radical temperature jumps provide for a good “cold” season with everyone getting a fair share of sneezing and coughing.
This is probably one of the cutest street photographs I have taken in a long time. I was walking along George Street on the opposite side of Sydney Town Hall, when I have noticed this pretty girl talking on her mobile phone and turning her head slowly towards me. more …
Reading a text message on his mobile this young man in a fashionable suit did not look up once as he was crossing the major road. I hear and read increasing number of warnings how modern gadgets take our attention away and increase risks. iPods and mobile phones are almost omni present and as much fun and convenience they provide they also require the owner to pay some extra attention.
