Golden Retriever - Portrait

Our golden retriever dog does not need a lot to achieve happiness: take him to the beach where he can swim and fetch a stick and he is seven heaven.

This photo was taken at effective 400mm as I was testing a 2x teleconverter. The Autofocus system suffers a bit with this converter but the end results can be really outstanding given a bit of patience and practice.

Learning to pose

Golden Retriever, Puppy Training

Golden Retriever, Puppy Training

Anyone who follows my blog will by now know my new model - our new Golden Retriever puppy called Buttercup. At 10 weeks her modeling career is taking off with a big bark. However, this model is very level headed and realises not everyone makes it in the highly competitive modeling industry and thus she is not neglecting to learn skill which she may fall back to if Ford model agency does not sign her up soon.

PS. This is my first shot with my new Canon EF-S 10-22 F/3.5-4.5 ultra wide lens.

Golden Retriever Puppy - Buttercup MG_1848

Here is the newest member of our family a Golden Retriever Puppy called Buttercup. She is currently close to 9 weeks old and as you can see from the photograph is working hard on the well known and deserved characteristic of the breed - placid, obedient and always trying to please the owner. The words sit, stay etc must be all gibberish to her at this time as no amount of persuasion or rewards would get her to pose for the camera.

Assistance Dogs

I have taken many photographs at Martin Place but none as moving as this one. This is Jessika and her golden retriever Lexi. Lexi is a very special dog, she is a graduate of Assistance Dogs Australia program, where dogs are specially trained to become companions for people with physical disabilities. The aim of the program is to improve quality of life for these people. According to her mother Jessika simply adores Lexi.

Here is a future graduate of the program - an adorable Labrador puppy:

And if this motorcycle club member with his big smile and even bigger heart can support this program so can anyone (visit http://www.assistancedogs.com.au/ for details):
