NSW Public School performances seem to be an annual event, where kids show of their entertainment skills. And I am talking real entertainment. Colourful, well choreographed shows with smiling kids in exceptionally clever outfits.
Although I cannot match the school names to the performances, today’s show at Martin Place involved:
- Menai High School
- Balgowlah Heights Public School
- Caringbah High School
- North Sydney Boys High School
- Macarthur Girls High School
- Crestwood Public School
- Caringbah and North Sydney Boys High Schools
- Conservatorium High School
- Talent Development Program Vocal Soloist
Well done kids (and teachers).
PS: Are you afraid of clowns?
Although the celebrations of the World Youth Day Sydney 2008 do not commence until tomorrow, there were considerable numbers of pilgrims roaming through Sydney today. Most of them came for a parade of the cross and icon along the Pitt Street.
Security was not necessary but as you can see from this photograph of a group of police officers the precautions were taken – just in case. Most people in Sydney went about their daily business. Let’s hope the remaining days of this event are as peaceful and that police won’t have to use the special powers granted to them by the state government.
Winter magic festival is an annual event held at Katoomba to celebrate winter solstice. It is one big cultural event attracting people of all sorts. Dressing up is big on the agenda and thus it is a photographer’s paradise. There are bands, dancers, drummers, lots of firemen and representatives of almost all alternative lifestyles you can think of.
