Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman

Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman arrive for the world premiere of movie “Australia” at the George Street Greater Union Cinemas on November 18, 2008 in Sydney, Australia.

This red carpet photograph is a first of a large series of photos I took at the event. I will publish all of them over next few days once I tag all of them properly.

Pink

Pink MG_5698

Pink performed her hit “So what” and “Funhouse” at Martin Place plaza, Sydney during her promotional tour. She is returning back to Australia next year for a proper tour. She seemed tired and by her own admission not being a morning person it took her a while to warm up to the crowd and the performance. However, once she started she gave a fantastic show and spend a considerable amount of time signing autographs.

Pink has absolutely filled in the Martin Place entertainment area. Visibly attracting more people then the organisers expected. The pedestrian traffic was virtually stopped. I got up at 5am to get a good spot but all I could manage is a remote corner place and having to photograph with my arms raised high in the air. Needless to say a lot of my photos from today were throwaways.

Visit my Pink Photo Gallery to see more photographs form the concert.

Ricki Lee performs her brand new single ‘Wiggle It.’

Ricki-Lee Coulter is particularly photographer friendly performer. Here, she found a few seconds for me, taking a friend’s hat and giving me a quick, cheeky pose.

She was performing her new single ‘Wiggle It.’ Many contestants from Australian Idol vanish from the media once the competition ends. Ricki-Lee seems to found her place in the entertainment industry, frequenting TV shows and now recording a second album. I for one wish her all the success, if nothing else, just for being friendly and approachable.

Entertainment is a serious business

I took this photograph of a masked, mystery performer during NSW Public Schools promotion. These young kids certainly had a serious approach to their performances. Entertainment is all about success. Once again, the kids and teachers put up an excellent shows, full of colour and movement.

NSW Public Schools Performances

Public Schools Promotion MG_7433

Public Schools Promotion MG_7433

NSW Public School performances seem to be an annual event, where kids show of their entertainment skills. And I am talking real entertainment. Colourful, well choreographed shows with smiling kids in exceptionally clever outfits.

Although I cannot match the school names to the performances, today’s show at Martin Place involved:

  • Menai High School
  • Balgowlah Heights Public School
  • Caringbah High School
  • North Sydney Boys High School
  • Macarthur Girls High School
  • Crestwood Public School
  • Caringbah and North Sydney Boys High Schools
  • Conservatorium High School
  • Talent Development Program Vocal Soloist

Well done kids (and teachers).
PS: Are you afraid of clowns?
