Tables and Chairs

Tables and Chairs

Did you recognise the items in this photograph immediately or did these simple stacked chairs and folded outdoor cafe tables reminded you of some industrial installations? It is interesting how common subjects can be sometimes arranged in a way where they become “hidden”.

Lunchtime read

Lunchtime read

In contrast to a post from few days showing men working at a cafe during lunch this young office worker obviously appreciates a bit of break from work. Absorbed by reading a book he seems to be totally unaware of the people in the eatery. Notice, that although he is dressed immaculately in a nice suit and white shirt - he has taken his tie off to make himself more comfortable.

Lunchtime work

Lunchtime work

Lunchtime work

This windows scene from a local Cafe is quite common. People meeting for lunch to do … more work. My walks through city and photographic “adventures” are deliberate escapes from work, letting me relax and take my mind of work at least for a while. I get some badly needed exercise at the same time. I guess some lunchtime work is unavoidable, but it almost seems pointless to leave the office just to keep working. I think I work better if I have a bit of time to relax in the middle of the day.

Business Breakfast

Business Breakfast

Business often starts a lot earlier than the traditional 9 to 5 would indicate. Many meetings take place during a business breakfast at numerous Sydney cafes.

Lunch in an alley

One could be forgiven for thinking a scene like that would have been photographed somewhere in Europe in one of the older towns. It has all the attributes: narrow street, small cafe with people having good time over lunch and to complete the scene a number of scooters parked near by. No it is not Italy, it is center of Sydney.
For some reason in last few days I have found quite a few places like that. This city is full of surprises.
