A group of young people were talking to each other while I was photographing City Chase promotions event. I tried to take my usual “candid” of them but I have forgotten my flash unit was on. Needless to say the blond girl clearly spotted this photographer.
Few days ago I took a lot of photographs, a lot more then usual as I was trying to get some good shots for “My day in photos project“. This photo of young, attractive couple was one of the shots from the day. They looked beautiful together and it was obvious they were in love: kissing and hugging. I was about to take their photo while they were embraced in a hug but by the time I’ve raised my camera to my eye the mood has suddenly changed. They still held their hands in togetherness but their faces seemed to express some concern. Whatever it is I hope they’ll overcome it together.
This stunning blond girl zoomed past me while I was on my way back to work from lunch. She was in an obvious hurry as her over exaggerated hand movements indicate. As I took the photo I realised I’ve captured it in an exact moment when her hand aligned with the leg of the man in the background. I looks like she is about to trip him - just a perspective based visual humour. This photograph required a bit of post processing: firstly I did not have my Canon 580EX flash with me and could not use fill in light. As a result the girl, which was walking with the sun, turned out too dark in comparison to the scene. I’ve used a rarely used “Equalise” function in Adobe Photoshop to increase the brightness. Remaining processing was limited to a simple black and white conversion and some minor sharpening.
When you need a TAXI there is never one around and you have to wait for a very long time. Blond girl waiting for a TAXI at Sydney Central Station.
