We returned to the Byron Bay lighthouse in the evening just before the sunset. And while most of the people tried to photographed the last rays of the sun for the day I have noticed a nicely layered view to North-West of Byron Bay, resulting in this photograph.

Delicate transition from one layer of hills to another and than the sky features are deceptively difficult to photograph well. Often the highlights will be blown, or trying to remedy that the who picture ends up under exposed. It helps to know what feature you should base your exposure level upon. The good part is than in a scene like that it is relatively easy to find a natural “18% gray” point.
