Is it winter or is it summer?

These two girls represent well the confusing weather we had in last few days. One of them is dressed warmly for the Australian winter as temperature has dropped to 6C in the morning. The other girl, who is talking on the mobile phone, is in a mini with a light top as if it was summer. Well the temperature today reached 21C.

The frequent and rather radical temperature jumps provide for a good “cold” season with everyone getting a fair share of sneezing and coughing.

Vocation

It is seldom that you would see members of clergy, nuns or monks in the middle of Sydney. Today however was a different story. You could see them all over Martin Place as in this photographs of two nuns in white habits with the blue stripes.

This unusual concentration clergy, monks and nuns is due to Vocations Expo which is on at Martin Place from Monday, 20 July until Wednesday, 22 July 2009.

There is a peculiar coincidence for me here, for I thought who out of all these young business people would be remotely feeling a vocation to serve God?
Later, the same day I have found out that one of my old high school friends became a priest. Who would have thought?
