Sun rays and fog
The morning fog stayed in the valley a bit longer today allowing for some very visible sun ray effects through the trees.

Eroded Sandstone at Avoca Beach. I find these features and textures in sandstone rocks really fascinating and I never tire of them.

I got an early father’s day present this year - a 12 week old golden retriever boy puppy, which I called Gucio.
You may not realise but one of my most popular photographs in this gallery with 1000s of views every week is that of a girl golden retriever we got last year called Buttercup.

On the other side of George Street, almost directly opposite the Town Hall a guitarist busker sets up show almost everyday this week. I’m yet to take a good photograph of him but he poses every time I point my lens at him. So, it is a task for another time. He plays semi-classical guitar pieces with strong Spanish undertones. It is an interesting place he selected to play at. It is a busy walkway, a bus stop near by and long set of steps leading to an office tower thus he always has an audience - willing or otherwise.
Today, at the bus stop there was this old man in a cowboy hat. He had an interesting face and I wanted to take his photograph. He seemed quite distant, uninterested and expressionless but when the music stopped a big smile appeared on his face and he clapped his hands loudly in an obvious appreciation for the music. Snap.

Yes, Sydney has underwear police conducting a blitz and it’s gotta be Bonds. In a clever and somehow entertaining marketing ploy Bonds are running a promotion for their underwear for men. I wonder if this watchful lady cop saw the brand of my underwear from afar. She has an approving smile … it must have been Bonds.

Often, when I photograph people I know what the situation is and my comments relate to that situation. However, being real street candids my photographs capture people as they are without any real context. Take this couple for example. They are having an expressive conversation. I have called this photo “I’m not sure” as the gestures seem to indicate a decision and indecision. What do you think they were talking about?
