Lunch in the park

Lunch in the park

Lunch in the park

This photograph of people having lunch in the park may not be of Manet’s “Breakfast in the Open Air” pedigree but it seemed to me a nice capture.

Beautiful, sunny day in Sydney even in the middle of our winter can bring nice, low 20C temperatures. A perfect weather for of a bit of park socialising or simply relaxing lunch.

Scottish dance

Scottish Dance

Scottish Dance

Australia is a very multicultural country. There is no question the English, Irish and Scottish emigrants dominate the national mix, but this is changing. Greece and Italy is strongly represented and in the recent migration waves Asian and Arabic nations are strongly visible too.

Sometimes this cultural mix creates issues but for most of the time people here leave in relative harmony.

This photograph of Scottish Dance performed by young girls at Martin Place was part of tribute to Scottish heritage in Australia. Lots of dancing, kilts and pipers around.

Skateboarder in the air

Again, I have watched a couple of skateboarders trying to get some huge air and then land in the super small space of the entertainment pit at the Martin Place. There is no question they were getting their jumps quite high but landing them, as it is often the case, proved more illusive.

V Club

Pole dancer

Pole dancer

This pole dancer performing her routine on a road sign is advertising a fitness centre by the name of V Club. And yes, we can see that V spelled out quite clearly. Seriously, I watched this routine for a minute or so and actually one would have to be more then fit to stay on the pole or road sign as it is the case for a duration of a pop song.
