Picasso face

An interestingly dressed and man and a woman with an elaborate makeup were approaching people in the Pitt Street Mall. Most people did not know how to react as it was not clear from their attire who or what are they representing. Was it a costume party or just a couple of mad people?

Well, believe it or not, once you overcame the fascination with their look the message they were carrying was simple “pedestrian safety”.

So, the man with the Picasso face was simply saying “look out, cars about”. And the crowd was looking out … for him not the cars. Kudos for originality and look but total failure as specific message delivery method.

Orange and tall

ING was running some promotion today in Sydney using people on stilts. They were visible from afar and I guess the orange, tall figures of these people drew considerable interest.

As I was taking this photograph of one of the promotion people talking to a passerby I had to ask myself is this really how a company wants to talk to their potential customers?

You know there are fish in the see. So you pick the best spot and you use the best bait and yet no matter how much you try sometimes you go home empty handed.
