Grant Hester - Sprint Cup, Erina 2008
Last night during Sprint Cup at the Erina ice rink my son, Sebastian managed to take first place in sub junior category. Needless to say I am very proud of him. He has been training under a watchful eye of Andrew McNee since last November. Taking into account his brief involvement in short track speed skating I think this is an excellent progress.
Fatherly pride aside the night belonged to Grant Hester in his bright yellow skin suit. Grant, in this short track speed skating event, blitzed everyone and in the process posted what probably is the fastest 500m this year in Australia at 45.3s. Well done Grant.

Crying Girl
I took this photograph of a crying woman few days ago. She was visibly, deeply disturbed by something. She was shouting aloud “I’ve given you everything I had, You gave me nothing I wanted”. She drew a lot of attention from everyone present. She kept yelling that phrase over and over as she walked through the Pitt Street Mall.

Winter magic festival is an annual event held at Katoomba to celebrate winter solstice. It is one big cultural event attracting people of all sorts. Dressing up is big on the agenda and thus it is a photographer’s paradise. There are bands, dancers, drummers, lots of firemen and representatives of almost all alternative lifestyles you can think of.

Lucas Cave MG_9748
From time to time we visit Jenolan Caves in the Blue Mountains. There is something very fascinating and beautiful in these caves. And when one considers that it takes millions of years for the cave to develop as we see them today it deserves even more “wow” factor.
On our last visit we went to a very popular Lucas Cave. It has a few more steps then most caves in the Jenolan Caves but the little effort is well worth it. I invite you to visit my Lucas Cave gallery.

Echo Point in cloud cover MG_9403
This is a scene from Echo Point at Katoomba. The gate visible on the left hand side of the rock wall leads to the Three Sisters track. The mist you see in the photograph is not fog, it is clouds. Yes, whole Echo Point was submerged in a dense cloud in the middle of a day.

Three Sisters in clouds MG_9395
There is no visit to Blue Mountains without a quick look over the Three Sisters in Katoomba from the Echo Point. However, you may be in for a surprise similar to what we have experienced: you may arrive there to see it but being able to see it is another story. A thick, low laying cloud cover totally obscured the famous Three Sisters. Actually, one could hardly see anything at all at Echo Point. The cloud cover subsided slightly for few seconds allowing me to take this very moody and almost mysterious photograph of Three Sisters.

Lunchtime read
In contrast to a post from few days showing men working at a cafe during lunch this young office worker obviously appreciates a bit of break from work. Absorbed by reading a book he seems to be totally unaware of the people in the eatery. Notice, that although he is dressed immaculately in a nice suit and white shirt - he has taken his tie off to make himself more comfortable.
