Madame Butterfly - Figure skater
Young skater flying through the air at the local figure skating competition. It is very difficult get quality results from such events as the venues are quite dark and yet I cannot use flash because this could blind the skaters.

A great looking image. I really like the way the skater appears to have leapt into the air, arms outstretched, a little awkward perhaps but hinting at the honesty and integrity of a child. I like the white skater on a white, icy background which distills the image so that there is only the skater.
