We hear the expression that beauty is only skin deep quite often. Looking at this gorgeous girl you would think she is a top model and belongs on a cover of a magazine. And yet, she is a volunteer for the Stop AIDS Now campaign trying to gather research funds at Sydney’s Pitt Street Mall. I admire her beauty and I’m full of respect for her activity.

I’ve seen this dazed and confused man many times and in many places during this week. He has a peculiar mannerism of suddenly lifting his head with a daze to the sky, which draws attention of everyone around.

The girl is telling a story, vividly gesticulating with her hands. He is listening with total attention, mesmerised either by her or the story. While watching them you can forget for a moment this is in the middle of busy Sydney street.

This beautiful Asian girl was waiting for her friend. She was looking intensly towards the direction she has expected her friend to come from. Was she really deep thoughts or was she simply enjoying her music?

I have attempted this shot many times before without much luck. The Sydney Post Office Building Walkway is usually either too bright or to dark to get a good tonal range while preserving details at the same time.

This set of photographs comes from Miniature Steam Trains at Narara Junction, which is the Central Coast Steam Model Co-op. They operate miniature train rides between 11.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month.
No miniature steam train picture today. The pictures show the picnic area in the early morning light and a beautiful blooming apple tree.
