Nanotube based batteries of the future
ScienCentral News reports an interesting development in field of battery construction. Instead of traditional chemical reaction the researches opted to use capacitor technology to store the energy. Traditionally this would be impractical for providing source of electricity due to insufficient area of capacitor's storage. However, by using nanotubes the researchers were able to achieve capacity 25 times that of chemically based batteries.
Nanotube battery technology is also an environmental breakthrough as the batteries do not deteriorate with time thus reducing waste associated with traditional batteries. Perhaps in not too distant future our cameras will be fueled by one of these high tech nanotube based batteries.
